BILLY

RACHEL

Look at me there, fitting in. But it's not what I feel inside. I dress like other girls do, try to talk like they do, but I don't know. Is it weird that I prefer the feeling of dried painting to human conversation? I've just never actually fit in anywhere, never had anyone. Well, until now.

BILLY

So yeah, one small problem with this love of my life. She's more of a Springfield girl, (laughs)

(at the mirror wiping lipstick off)

HUGH

A lot of people think I'm privileged, that I'm a selfish, arrogant blaggard. I'm so misunderstood.

Sees Simon waving, ignores him

Ah, coursework due. I might have to again dash out the odd cheque for Miss Janney, keep her happy.

Anyway, as a wise man once said, if someone else ratings is falling, it's their problem. Life would be too complicated if I had to care for everybody (approaches the other students) like these miserable rotters here. But no, that's harsh, they do keep me entertained.

Girl asks her to blow her pool stick.

Ah yes, always glad to do a favour. But I'll behave. After all, I have a new treasure to look after at the moment.

CORRIDOR

BILLY: 

Right, now just gotta f- Oh crud. (Pause)

Rachel waves

 Oh my god, this is so awkward, it's like some of kind of cheesy dr- (was going to say dream)

Hugh bashes into her.

HUGH

Dream on Big Boo.

RACHEL (smiling at her new boyfriend)

I know he's bit of a twit. Bu I feel he at least gives me some attention, and he's there for me. Suppose that's what I want.

The two walk off.

HUGH

Oh dear, what a villain I am. But come on, I'm doing her a favour. Rachel's got class, I mean yes, she's from the north, but still,  she'd never go out with a fr-

BILLY

-freak like me. (sighs as she sees Hugh and Rachel walking off).

Billy just sits there. Eventually, Jake lowers his hand to help her.

(looking up)

Oh there he is again. The ever loyal Roman soldier. (Rejects him and storms off) I wanna try and be polite, but I can't, this is just too much for one morning.
